1995Die Anfänge

Lacking commercially available clinical information systems, Dr. Berger and Prof. Blaser began developing their own HIS for the Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Zurich. The first requirements outlines were created (example by Prof. Follath).

2002Gründung der CISTEC AG

The University Hospital Zurich decides to use only one hospital-wide HIS and chooses KISIM. The development team then found CISTEC AG as a spin-off company.

2004Zusätzliches Modul

The Tarmed tariff is being introduced throughout Switzerland. KISIM is being expanded to include the „Service Recording“ module for outpatient service recording.

2006KISIM-Kurve

With the introduction of the curve and medication, KISIM set standards in terms of functionality and user-friendliness that are still considered benchmarks today.

2009Markteintritt

The Bernese Oberland hospital network fmi (Frutigen, Meiringen, Interlaken) decides to use KISIM, thus enabling CISTEC to enter the market.

2010Verabschiedung Wachstumsstrategie

CISTEC is too small to be perceived as a HIS provider and is opting for a growth strategy. Within five years, the customer base and number of employees are to be doubled.

2012Modul Disposition

The KISIM scheduling system is being expanded into a powerful multi-resource planning system. All appointments for patients, staff, rooms, equipment, etc., can be planned and managed centrally in KISIM.

2013Erfolg

The growth target was achieved after just three years. Revenue and the number of employees have doubled, and CISTEC has since become a successful HIS provider in the Swiss market.

201520 Jahre KISIM

KISIM has been the hospital’s central information system (CIS) for 20 years. The hospital is organizing a large KISIM anniversary symposium, „20 Years of KISIM,“ and celebrating this rare milestone with many guests.

2016Erweiterung Produktpalette

KISIM expands its range of functions and launches the mobile product line (KISIM-Mobile) and the KISIM-PDMS.

2017EPD

The Electronic Patient Record Act is definitively passed and CISTEC is implementing pilot projects with the portal solutions of the Post Office and Swisscom.

2019Einführung KISIM Patienten-Dashboard

The PDB appears as the primary patient register, and various tiles form the layout. We aimed to create a generic structure that could accommodate the broadest possible range of our customers‘ individual needs. Numerous customized layouts, tailored to specific professional groups, can be easily created by the customer themselves.

We are celebrating «20 YEARS OF CISTEC»

Great commitment. Extensive expertise. One team . What began 20 years ago as a small spin-off from the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) has grown into the market-leading company for clinical information systems in German-speaking Switzerland.
We thank our 150 employees, as well as our customers and partners, for their loyalty and excellent collaboration. Together, we will continue to grow, and through the ongoing development of our innovative clinical information system, KISIM, we will continue to make a significant contribution to the digitalization of the Swiss healthcare system.

2026KISIM wird biligual

With our client, the Hôpital Fribourgeois, KISIM is opening a new chapter: For the first time, we are also represented in French-speaking Switzerland. This not only opens up a new geographical area, but also allows us to further develop KISIM into a bilingual solution. This step strengthens our presence throughout Switzerland and lays the foundation for even closer collaboration across language barriers.
